Located in Petaling Jaya, “Mei Wei Little Kitchen Restaurant” is the neighbourhood restaurant for the everyday working class to dine out with family and friends. The interiors are simple and dashed with wooden tables, giving it a cosy, homey atmosphere.

Using the freshest produce as ingredients for all their dishes, keeping them simple, homey, and unpretentious so patrons can just kick-back and enjoy a meal.

Some of the chef’s recommendations include the Fish Head Curry, Specialty Chicken Wings, Lala Broth, Hainan Noodles, and Guinness Pork Ribs. Their signature dishes are the Thousand Layers Bean Curd and the Lettuce with Smoked Bacon.

The Thousand Layers Bean Curd serves a cold dish or starter. The tofu is first refrigerated, before cut into multiple layers. Thereafter shredded meat, seaweed and a special sauce are used as fillings in-between layers. It’s a really appetising and perfect starter amid our hot weather. The other signature dish, Lettuce with Smoked Bacon, is really a fancy, spicy and delicious take on the usually plain and simple stir-fried lettuce with garlic.

For those who love spicy food, the Fish Head Curry, which uses grouper fish, and the Specialty Chicken Wings are must-tries.

美味小厨的家乡味 

于八打灵再也的“美味小厨”走平民路线的价格,是非常适合一家大小用餐的地方。对于餐厅装潢并没有花费太多,主要是使用木制的桌椅,让人有家乡味道的感觉。

美味小厨的老板戚翠娟表示,在美味小厨里的美食都是以最新鲜的食材烹调而出的,同时也是要提供一个最有家乡味的菜肴,也许有些人会觉得没什么特别,不过主要的是让人可以品尝到家常的佳肴。

其招牌菜有石斑咖哩鱼头、喷火鸡翼、招牌上汤沙白、千层豆腐、海南面、黑啤排骨大王、巴辣腌肉炒生菜等。在海鲜方面,餐厅坚持使用最新鲜,就以招牌上汤沙白来说,如果发现沙白已经死亡或是冷藏的,坚决不使用,也不马马虎虎的让顾客品尝。

最特别的是千层豆腐及巴辣腌肉炒生菜。千层豆腐是一道冷食,它经过冷藏后,再切开变成多层,内里的馅料有肉丝及一些自制酱汁,再加上一些紫菜丝,非常适合在炎热的天气下品尝。再来是巴辣煙肉炒生菜,一道简单的生菜,经过调味及加入干辣椒和胡椒粒,菜肴还有一些香脆的腌肉,香辣可口。

当然少别忘了石斑咖哩鱼头及喷火鸡翼,是喜欢吃辣的顾客必点的菜肴之一。至于咖哩鱼头,搭配的蔬菜非常多,味道十足。至于喷火鸡翼是由美味小厨特别研制,经过腌制后,再下油锅炸,外皮非常酥脆,单点作小食也适合。
