MDX Summit 2025 Catalysing Malaysia’s Trillion-Dollar Digital Future

Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), in strategic partnership with Synapze Sdn Bhd, today launched the Malaysia Digital Xceleration (MDX) Summit 2025, officiated by Minister of Digital, YB Gobind
Singh Deo.

Carrying the theme “Catalysing Malaysia’s Trillion-Dollar Digital Future”, MDX now in its third year, is being held from 17 – 19 September 2025 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. The summit showcases the latest breakthroughs in emerging technologies, digital transformation, and innovation bringing together global leaders, industry pioneers and policymakers to advance Malaysia’s goal of achieving a 30% digital economy contribution to GDP by 2030.Among this year’s line-up of distinguished speakers are Dr. Keyu Jin (London School of Economics), Nicklas Bergman (technology investor and entrepreneur), alongside leading Malaysian innovators and policymakers. Their insights will spotlight how ASEAN, with its digital economy projected to hit USD 1 trillion by 2030, can leverage Malaysia’s leadership to become a global digital powerhouse.
Over 5,000 participants are expected to attend MDX Summit 2025, including entrepreneurs, investors, corporate leaders, trade associations, and digital professionals. The summit features conferences, immersive exhibitions, high-impact networking sessions and policy roundtables, creating opportunities for cross-border collaborations and strategic investments.

MDX Summit 2025 is running alongside the inaugural SmartGOV Malaysia 2025, in collaboration with National Digital Department (JDN). SmartGOV Malaysia 2025 highlights the government’s journey in embracing digital transformation. Through AI-powered public services, digital permits, and smart city planning, SmartGOV Malaysia 2025 demonstrates how technology can transform public services, reduce bureaucracy, and deliver greater efficiency to the Rakyat.
Together, MDX Summit 2025 and SmartGov highlight Malaysia’s capabilities in harnessing its nationwide 5G network and the broader Malaysia Digital (MD) ecosystem of solutions, talent, and infrastructure, underscoring the nation’s commitment to inclusivity, resilience, and sustainability in the digital economy.

In conjunction with MDX Summit 2025, the Ministry of Digital and MDEC also announced the recipients of the Malaysia Digital Acceleration Grant – Artificial Intelligence (MDAG-AI). MDAG-AI, which was introduced in July 2025, is a funding initiative that supports local MD companies in accelerating the development and adoption of AI-driven solutions with high commercial potential, supporting Malaysia’s drive to scale emerging technologies and strengthen digital competitiveness. Under MDAG‐AI, eligible companies could apply for funding covering up to 70% of total project costs, capped at RM2 million, for projects running up to one year.
