The Malaysian Outstanding Holistic Wealth Awards (MOHWA) 2026 concluded its third annual Gala Dinner on 27 October at M World Hotel, Petaling Jaya, honouring 85 outstanding professionals in the holistic wealth management industry.
Organised by the Malaysia Will and Trust Association (MWTA), the event brought together industry leaders, award recipients and corporate partners to celebrate professional excellence, integrity and commitment toresponsible wealth planning.

Three Years of Continued Growth

Since its inception in 2024, MOHWA has grown steadily, recognising 63 award recipients in its inaugural year, 73 in 2025 and 85 in 2026 — representing an overall increase of approximately 35%.This year’s recipients comprised 45 Personal Award recipients, 33 Leadership Award recipients and sevenSupreme Eagle Award recipients.
Speaking at the event, MOHWA Chairlady Kathryn Khoo highlighted that the awards represent more thanindividual achievements.

“Behind every recognition is a professional who has chosen to keep learning, serving clients and families, and
upholding high standards in their work. These achievements reflect the growing professionalism and
commitment within our industry,” she said.

Inaugural Eagle Circle Recognises Sustained Excellence

A key milestone of MOHWA 2026 was the introduction of the Eagle Circle, honouring 42 professionals who have received MOHWA recognition for three consecutive years. The inaugural recognition, exclusively sponsored by Octowill Trustees Berhad, celebrates consistency, integrity and sustained professional achievement.Jack Leong, Managing Director of Octowill Trustees Berhad, emphasised the importance of mentorship and knowledge-sharing in building a lasting legacy.

“Recognition is personal, but its value can reach much further when experience is shared. Success is worth celebrating. When it is sustained, shared and used to guide others, it becomes something more — a legacy,”he said.

MWTA Ushers in a New Chapter of Leadership

The evening also marked a significant leadership transition, with Thomas Chin assuming the role of MWTA President, succeeding Dato’ Chua Meng Min, who will continue serving as Legacy Advisor.
A special tribute was presented to Dato’ Chua in recognition of his longstanding contributions to MWTA and his dedication to advancing professional education and industry development. In his address, Chin expressed his appreciation for the foundation established by his predecessor and outlined four priorities for MWTA’s next chapter: capability, credibility, community through cooperation, and public confidence through education.

“Our work should ultimately help families make informed decisions about their future. Whether it is a parent planning for their children or a business owner preparing for succession, these are real concerns that give our profession its purpose,” said Chin.

Building a Legacy Beyond Recognition

MOHWA 2026 was supported by Platinum Sponsors ZICO Trust (M) Berhad, Octowill Trustees Berhad and Holistic Wealth Group (HWG), reflecting their shared commitment to professional excellence and industry development.
Dato’ Muraly Daran M. Narayana Menon of ZICO Trust (M) Berhad highlighted that responsible estate planning is not simply about passing assets to the next generation, but ensuring that wealth is preserved and continues to benefit families over time. He urged professionals to guide clients carefully, noting that the true value of legacy planning lies in protecting what people have worked to build.
Beyond its annual awards, MWTA continues to promote professional education, industry collaboration and greater public awareness of estate and succession planning.

As MOHWA looks towards 2027, the awards remain committed to inspiring professionals to pursue excellence, share knowledge and contribute to a stronger, more trusted holistic wealth management industry.
As Kathryn Khoo reflected in her address, “Legacy is not only what we build for ourselves, but what we make possible for others.”
