Malaysia go ahead with the Defence Services Asia (DSA) and National Security (Natsec) Asia 2026 exhibition despite ongoing geopolitical tensions, including conflicts in the Middle East, according to Defence Minister Mohamed Khalid.

He said the decision to proceed with the 19th edition of Defence Services Asia demonstrates the event’s resilience and Malaysia’s ability to navigate a complex global environment.
Speaking during a pre-event walkabout on April 19, Khaled noted that this year’s exhibition has attracted 1,456 companies from 63 countries, an increase from 1,324 companies representing 60 countries in 2024.
The exhibition will feature 37 country pavilions, slightly fewer than the previous edition due to Iran’s withdrawal at the last minute.
Khaled said that Malaysia continues to position the event as a neutral and inclusive platform, allowing participation from all nations, including those currently involved in conflicts.
He added that the exhibition plays a crucial role in defence diplomacy by bringing together officials from defence ministries and armed forces worldwide, enabling dialogue, cooperation, and the exchange of perspectives on global security issues.

Such initiatives, he said, align with Malaysia’s neutral foreign policy while strengthening international defence relations.
The DSA and Natsec Asia 2026, themed “Enhancing Capabilities and Resilience Through Technology,” will be officially opened by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on April 20.
The event will include exhibitions by local and international defence companies, forums, contract signings, presentations of letters of intent, and activities under the Industrial Collaboration Programme (ICP).
